Welcome to Aloha Friday with Judy! And welcome to the Hancock Landing in Hawaii kai! The Hawaii KAI MARINA association provides this facility for its members to launch their watercraft. At the same time, all can take it advantage of the lovely open vista of the marina. I’ve always wondered where the name Hancock came from. It turns out Lambreth Hancock, right hand man to Henry Kaiser, who developed all of the 6000 acres of Hawai’i Kai, is the landing’s namesake. Hancock, also known as “Handy”, wrote a book, entitled, Hawaii kai, the first 20 years.
