Housing has created a stiff competition for Baby Boomers and Millennials
Baby Boomers and Millennials Are in a Heated Housing War
Baby boomers and millennials are in a housing war, says a Zillow report.
For one, Americans 60 years old and older have been more active in the housing market in the past decade than those in the same age group 10 years earlier, whether it’s because they’re downsizing or moving to a new town, or aging in place.
Such choices create stiff competition for the younger generation, who face an array of challenges – tight inventory, punishing student loan debt, and challenges saving for down payments among them – as they try to become homeowners.
With their home equity gains, Baby Boomers have the upper hand in winning bidding wars.
Traveling Again?
With many restrictions lifted, we are are hitting the road, the trails, the ships, the slopes and the air once again.
Keeping track of cancelled flights is sometimes challenging.
One piece of advice… Never forget to ask whether you have credits or to check your “wallet” on the airline’s website before you book your next flight.
Another suggestion…think outside the box.
We were signed up and ready to go with the Hawaii Ski Club to Japan this year. When it was clear that wouldn’t happen and our friends said “come with us to Mt Hood”, a place we had never been to, we said yes. We had a blast with good snow, gorgeous scenery and great company!
